Finally finished up the green fiber that Kae sent me. I just have to ply it now.
and a closeup..
It's not that good..but I need to keep practicing. For some reason plying is not coming to me easily. I think I need a little help with it.
Started the kitty hat to match the T3 sweater all I have to do is add the last ear and it will be finished.
I signed the boys up for swimming lessons today. They start June 28th. I have to go with the little one. It will be fun though I think. I'm really really tired today and tomorrow is our SCA group's fighter practice/populace meeting. I will be tired tomorrow too I guess. I want to make another sweater now. I would like to do it and do it better than the last one. Maybe the appropriate amount of yarn will fall in my lap and I can make one *grin* It really sucks being "ample" sized because it takes more yarn to make stuff for me. I think I would like a T3 for myself..but out of cotton or something. OH well..I have some socks to make and wool to spin. *grin* I have enough to keep me busy. OH..and I have to make a block for the QC Birthday Block Exchange. It's due June 20th. Guess I'll work on that this week. Something simple I think...machine applique. I really need to sit down and just make all the blocks for the rest of the year and be done with it! Yeah..like me doing anything ahead is going to happen. :P
Oh..I did this last night too. Its 48 yards or so of a single that I didn't want to ply. I haven't checked the WPI yet. I have a bunch of this wool in fall colors (oranges, reds. tans. browns, yellow/golds) and I think I am going to spin it up as singles and see if i can't get a shawl from it. I have no idea what kind of wool it is. I bought it on ebay ages ago and don't remember.
Here is the spindle that I have been using for these fibers.
