BBQ'd some burgers and brats last night. Storm started coming up and it got really windy. I saw sparks flying across my back window. Thought It was the bbq grill got knocked over and the coals were blowing. Nope..not a chance. There was a power line in a tree behind my house and it was sparking and catching the tree on fire. It looked like someone was welding in the tree. I was afraid it was going to catch my fence on fire or..the neighbor behind me. Anywho...call 911 at 8:30...call 911 at 9:00, right about then the transformer blew KAAAAAAAAABOOOM. NO power. Tried to call the electric company a gazillion times and didn't get anyone. They were too busy. The fire dept. finally showed up around 11 and said ...yep it was on fire (it had gone out from the rain since there was no more juice in the lines), said they'd call the electric company for me and left.
So ..after two more calls to the electricity company I finally just now got power. I had put all my refrigerated food in ice chests and took all my freezer foods to my moms house to put in her freezer.
One thing I gotta say...never knit by candle light. *sigh*
oh..and here's the bed set we ended up getting. Found it on sale cheap at Mervyn's ($50 for everything) I bought a white sheet to make her a curtain since the purple one no longer matches.
