Big update with lots of photos..

Today my parents took me on my birthday lunch. I chose this place called China King. Huge chinese buffet with sushi. MMM. *pats full belly*

I have gotten so many loverly gifts for my birthday and RAOK's. I feel incredibly special.

My secret pal's gift found me yesterday.

That's the 2005 knitting pattern a day calendar and a ball of some of the neatest yarn I've ever seen.

Here's a closeup of it. (Make sure you click to see the bigger view)

Isn't it wonderful? I have no idea what it is. All the tag says is "8oz". I have emailed my pal and asked her what it is so hopefully I'll find out soon.

AND THEN...

I got a package in the mail from the loverly Verna. Here is what was inside.

The white roving on the left is CASHMERE!! *swoons* The lavender is some superwash.

Look at the little sheepy on her note.

I also got the cutest post card from Carolyn. It has pictures of Elvis on the front and Carolyn and Elvis are both wishing me a Happy Birthday!! Thanks so much Carolyn! I collect postcards so Its going right into the collection!!

I finally got the Sophie bag all lined and mailed off to its recipient.

Here's what she looked like right before I stuffed her in the tyvek envelope.

and a shot of the lining and velcro closure.

PLEASE NOTE I have started using bloglines to help me keep up with my blog reading. I have subscribed to all on my blogrolling list that have feeds and deleted everyone who is now on my bloglines notify list. Please don't think I don't like you anymore if your name isn't over there to the right. It just means you are on my notify list. :) I'm trying to speed up the time I spend on the internet and this way I only have to read blogs that have been updated. Theres a blogline subscribe button down at the bottom of my sidebar if you'd like to subscribe to me. I've found this service very helpful and fairly reliable too.

*whew* I'm exhausted from all that posting. *grin* Maybe next post I'll have a finished mitten to show you. I started one last night out of some of my own homespun. I just need to do the thumb and I'll have one down. More from me later. I have to go finish organizing my sewing area. *blech*
